Tyrannical Minority To the Editor: Last week's QUAD ANGLES misquoted me. I spoke of the tyranny of the minority not the majority. On this campus I feel that there is a greater danger of a tyrannical minority than a tyrannical majority. The majority of students have almost no say in making their rules since the final say lies in the hands of the administration. We even need permission from the administration to change rules such as the dress code. As far as lam concerned, there should be no question as to our prerogative in this area. This, of course, is not to say that the students should control all aspects of college life. Such an assumption would be ridiculous. They do, however, deserve the right to control what affects them alone. Neither do I condone any minority student group controlling the campus, but a consideration of all involved in the areas which pertain to them. For instance, student affairs should be in the hands of the students. The majority should have first say so long as they do not violate any rights of individual faculty members. At any rate, any tyranny on this campus has thus far come from a very small minority. The majority does not seem to want to assert its rights, so the minority need not fear.
