Summers: a new student advocate

Gene Miyakawa, Editor-in-Chief of the September 6th 1984 edition of The Quad, wrote an article featuring Dr. Rodger Summers, the first permanent, Vice-President for Student Affairs. He notes that Dr. Summers is an advocate for students and believes in being "visible in all areas affecting new students." Dr. Summers had plans to set up "an advisory board that he calls Student Life Committee," which would function as a discussion board for student input.
