West Chester University of Pennsylvania, Student Newspapers, The Quad, 1980 Vol. 48 No. 15

This is an article published in the student newspaper, The Quad, in January of 1980. There is an article on page 3 of the newspaper which describes an incident which occurred on October 23rd, 1979. A student, Jonathan Grayson stole 350 newspapers and was later seen throwing them in the trash at the Sykes College Union building. He claimed that he decided to steal the papers due to the lack of representation for the Black Student Union in the homecoming photos. The photos of the BSU's homecoming queen, as well as their parade float, were omitted from the paper. He was not a representative of the Black Student Union but was upset by the ongoing issue of unequal representation for black students in The Quad.
