Included in the "Announcements" section of the April 28th, 1986 issue of The Quad, underneath the heading "miscellaneous" was information regarding an essay contest. The Black Student Union sponsored a Martin Luther King Jr. essay contest on the theme "How can 'you' help fulfill the dream of Dr. King?" Information regarding submission was included in this advertisement. There was an additional ad under this heading regarding "The Black Greek Step Show" on May 3rd, 1986 at Sanderson Court.
